THE BEGINNING
Yeshua Our Messiah Ministries was founded in October 2014 by Pastor Edwin M. Guinto.
The ministry was originally known as Yeshua Messiah Healing Ministry. As the ministry continued to develop, prophetic words and recommendations concerning its identity led Pastor Edwin to seek the Lord in prayer and discernment regarding the ministry’s name and direction.
THE NAME YOMM
During this process, Pastor Edwin and his biological brother, Rolly M. Guinto, prayed together concerning the name of the ministry.
Rolly received the word “YOM,” inspired by the Hebrew word yom, meaning “day.” From this came the name:
YESHUA OUR MESSIAH MINISTRIES — YOMM
The name reflects the ministry’s focus on Yeshua HaMashiach—Jesus Christ our Messiah—and its desire to understand God’s purposes and appointed times through the light of Scripture.
ISRAEL AND GOD’S PURPOSES
Romans 11:25 has been foundational in shaping YOMM’s understanding of God’s continuing purposes for Israel and the nations.
YOMM believes that God’s redemptive plan reveals His faithfulness to Israel while also demonstrating His grace in bringing people from the nations into His saving purposes through Jesus Christ.
THE FEASTS OF THE LORD
As the ministry grew, YOMM developed a deeper appreciation for the biblical and Jewish roots of the Christian faith and for the Feasts of the Lord as God’s appointed times.
YOMM does not observe the Feasts as a means of salvation or as an obligation to come under the Mosaic Covenant. Rather, we recognize their biblical and prophetic significance and how they bear witness to God’s redemptive plan fulfilled in Jesus Christ.
The Spring Feasts point powerfully to the first coming and redemptive work of Jesus Christ, while the Fall Feasts prophetically direct our attention toward His return and the coming Kingdom.
OUR JOURNEY CONTINUES
From its beginning in 2014 to the present, Yeshua Our Messiah Ministries has continued to grow in its calling to know Jesus Christ, honor His Word, welcome the work and presence of the Holy Spirit, make disciples, and participate in God’s purposes for Israel and the nations.
Our history is still being written.
Jesus Christ remains our center.
The Word of God remains our foundation.
The Holy Spirit remains our empowerment.
